Hello District One!

I hope everyone had a blessed and Merry Christmas and that you all are having a great new year!

We are only a few weeks away from the Regional Convention! I am very excited and eager to see all of you again at our chapter’s Decatur campus of Calhoun Community College!

Forms for registration for the Regional Convention will go out this week. Please be sure to mark the dates on your calendar. Also, it is important to submit the forms and fees before the deadline to ensure your reservation is secured. We certainly don’t want anyone to miss out because of a missed deadline!

Please start making your plans now for both the Regional and International Conventions! I will see you there!

We have another date that is fast approaching and that is the February 1st deadline for our Project Share. If you have plans for fund raising, please get it done and have your money submitted before February 1st . Don’t forget that an award will be presented to the Chapter that raises the most money for Project Share scholarships!

I know this is crunch time for Honors in Action, and as you are assembling the essays – compiling names, dates, outcome, etc. – I encourage you to seek help with your editing and critiquing of your work.

If there is anything I can do to assist you with your final touches please don’t hesitate to contact me. This is going to be an awesome year for District One in the awards department because I am confident that each Chapter has an outstanding College Project and Honors in Action Report.

The time is nearing that some of us will be moving on to other endeavors in our lives. Positions of officers in both Chapters and Regional will become available. Now is the time for recruitment. Meet –N- Greets are perfect for answering any questions concerning Phi Theta Kappa and officer positions. I would be happy to meet with anyone that would like to discuss the Regional Vice President of District One position, as my term will be coming to an end in March. I encourage everyone to inquire about any chapter or regional position that they may be interested in!
